1976 Honda CB400

Model Description

1976 (P) Honda CB400-F1 Super Sport as a nearly completed cafe-racer restoration project in Black .
This is the revised F1 model from 1976 without the pillion footrest on the swinging arm before becoming the F2 in 1977.
We all had 440/4’s in our youth so a few years ago we decided to fully restore 4 bikes, which created in the press about the marque and we benefitted with many repairs and restorations off the back of these bikes.
We were then left with this last bike which we decided to treat somewhat differently (more in a cafe racer style), but due to ill health we have been unable to complete this 400/4 and instead decided to offer this as an easy to finish winter project.
We have done the following –
Re-powder coated frame and swing arm, painted engine which had new big ends, main shells, hivo chain, cam chain, piston rings, bores cleaned and honed and valves re-ground,
The carburettors were ultrasonically cleaned and carb kits fitted with bell mouths along with black powder-coated wheels with stainless spokes and new bearings, painted tank with mudguards and side panels, powder-coated brake capilers, new master cylinder new brake disc, new hand grips, new switch-gear, new clutch lever and housing, new brake lever, new chrome rear shocks, rebuilt forks with new stanchions / fork seals and powder-coated bottoms with fork gaiters, new mirrors, new horn, new clock (reading 0 miles), new Metzler ME22 tyres, new wiring loom, new Marshall stainless exhaust system (rare 1970’s ), R and G paddock stand bobbins,
Now just requiring finishing with fitting brake lines, oil filter with spring and washer, battery and your choice of seat and headlight, pillion footrests if required and to put your own stamp on it.
The bike now qualifies as a Historic vehicles (over 40 years old) so a MOT is no longer required and road fund tax is not payable.
